Mr E Brown attended the meeting.
1.
To receive apologies: None.
2.
To agree and sign the
minutes of the last meeting held on the February 4th 2008.

Declarations of interest:
None.
4.
Mr Martin Webb attended the
meeting from the forestry commission and gave a very
interesting talk on the design plans for Northcombe Forest for the coming
years. The Ivory White and Marsh Fritillary are two rare specious of butterfly
that habit the forest in 96 hectares and there are a lot of deer in the
vicinity. Mr Webb explained that a lot of the woodlands need to be thinned out
but at present are unable to so due to bat roosts. Cllr Worth asked if it was
possible for a guided walk through the forest could be arranged and maybe the
gardening club members would be interested in this also. Mr Webb said he is
quite happy to take people around with the maximum numbers of 20. (clerk to
gets dates and discuss with the garden club )

sand school at Grindhill Farm for Miss J Gordon ( no objections) The
agricultural restriction at Lake View was discussed but the decision is unknown
at present.
6.
Finance. A cheque to be
raised in the sum of £485.00 for the new notice board, and payment at £150.00
to I Penning for P3 admin duties agreed by the Council. The sum of £8186.23 to
be paid to Play-ground Supplies Ltd. for the new play area equipment that has
been delivered to the Chairman and he will get advice and guidance from the
sales rep for positioning the equipment for and health and safety standards for the future .All were in
agreement for this as they felt that inspections from ROSPA were very expensive
and Arthur Weed used to inspect the swings but the PC were unsure as to why he
was now not inspecting . A cheque to be raised in the sum of £150.00 to T
Hughes for mowing. No objections.
7.
A training afternoon at
Lamerton Village Hall for Parish and Town Council Standards to be attended by
Cllr Jordan Cllr Pond Cllr Worth and Clerk C Cogdell.
8.
AOB.The clerk read out a
letter from Mr and Mrs G Cooke from
Round House Barn requesting a pedestrian wooden gate to be installed by
themselves to allow pedestrian access into the playing field. The council had
no objections. ( clerk to write to Mr and Mrs Cooke)
9.
A letter was read out by the Chairman from Joe Rice
requesting if the PC could support him in his Duke of Edinburgh scheme overseas
but it was agreed that this was not possible due to financial restraint. (
clerk to send a reply letter) The wood
chip for the new play area was discussed and the Chairman hopes that helpers
will come forward to install the new play area next month.
10. The street light has still not
been fixed and was still shorting out after the 3rd visit from the
electricity board..
